Create a shooting star (without the dowel rod, otherwise it's too similar to a wand). Attach part of a toilet paper tube on the back for the child to hold on while they wave the shooting star. Add tissue paper streamers and/or ribbon, and lots of sparkle!
OK you guys, I think I've fallen in love with another kids activity. These crystal stars are awesome! Any activity where I get to make something beautiful from bright rainbow colours, and I'm totally on board!
Waitangi National Trust - Matariki Fesitval Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises just once a year, this year on the 28th June and signals the start of the Māori New Year.
