RIP 3/31/16 Zaha Hadid, Iraqi-British architect was the first woman to awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize. She twice won the UK’s most prestigious architecture award, the RIBA Stirling Prize.. Her recognition sounded throughout the art world and also in fashion, influencing designers like Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, who once called her the “Coco Chanel of today.”
London practice Zaha Hadid Architects have designed two buildings for the city of Reggio Calabria in Italy. The building will house a museum of Mediterranean history, including exhibition spaces, restoration facilities, an archive, an aquarium and a library.
