Scooting/Anal glands when a dogs anal glands need to be expressed is probably the most common reason dogs scoot on the floor. I recommend having your vet express them, but a groomer can as well but they can only do light pressure externally so as not to burst the dogs anal gland. If your dog continues to scoot after expressing them your vet needs to know. Large dogs rarely need them expressed.
