1789- Organized European feminism first sprouts in Revolutionary France, as it will again in the revolutions of 1848 (when it will also spread to Germany) & 1871, suffering setbacks during the Napoleonic regimes. By the 1850s, European feminism will have spread to Russia, where its repression will move many women into the revolutionary camp there.
The Women's March on Versailles, was a riot that made a big push in the French Revolution. The large masses of women made some people think twice about the revolution. This was not the only riot that women participated in during the French Revolution.
