John William Sublett (February 19, 1902 – May 18, 1986), known by his stage name John W. Bubbles, was an American vaudeville performer, dancer, singer and entertainer. Sublett’s catchphrase, “Shoot the liquor to me john boy,” has been quoted in songs by several artists, including The Manhattan Transfer, The Ink Spots, and Louis Armstrong, among others.
