1913 — Harley-Davidson founders and childhood chums Walter Davidson & William Harley. So it turns out that Walter Davidson was a prolific world traveler, preferably by motorcycle and train. In fact, it was his love for travel that probably saved Harley-Davidson from early financial devastation. By the 1920s, Harley-Davidson had already established a dealer network in 67 different countries around the world.
