In this video, Tupac seems to reiterate and translate King's assertion that "A Riot is the Language of the Unheard." Both men's words speak to critical race theory and simultaneous oppression--exact concerns facing the Black community today with cases of police brutality. In fact, this shared trauma examines Black history, persistent wounds, and repetition of violence. As such, one questions: What does it mean to heal from history? Is healing possible?
