Pan Jinlian [潘金蓮] is a protagonist in the Chinese classic novel Jin Ping Mei (The Plum in the Golden Vase), and a minor character in the Water Margin, another classic. A well-known figure in Chinese culture, she represents the quintessential adulterous wife, and has become the patron goddess of brothels and prostitutes. #myth
Zhang Heng, aka the Boatman, by Utagawa Kuniyoshi from his 108 Heroes of the Water Margin series. Zhang Heng was an excellent swimmer/pirate/navy commander and one of the heroes of the 14th Century Chinese novel, The Water Margin.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi.He is known for depictions of the battles of samurai and legendary heroes. His work was inspired by water margin book, better know as Shuihu Zhuan or Shuihu in chinese - original language- or as Suikoden in japanese. He was called to produce a series of woodblock prints illustrating the 108 heroes of the Water Margin in 1827.
