The Tear Drop Monument was donated by the Russian people in tribute to those lost on 9/11. The names of those lost are inscribed in the base similar to the Vietnam Wall in DC. The walkway is lined with stones donated by those in remembrance of this day. The site is directly across from the Statue of Liberty, and looking at that skyline, you truly do see what's missing.

April 4, 1973: Opening Day of World Trade Center Complex in NYC. (JEO: The Twin Towers were awesome..& scary! I worked on Wall Street for 40 years, including in a few WTC buildings. Pre-cellphone, people TALKED to each other on the streets at lunchtime, & I heard many people talk of how those Towers made them nervous. Some people swore they 'd never work in them! It was a huge concept for its time.

i grieve for your stricken occupants, but not for the hubris & blight of your existence. i felt so angry & invaded when fools erected you; my heart still rejoices that you're gone. and i cry, "never again!...please!"
