Virgin Islands (U.S. Virgin Islands) ~ North America (Caribbean) ~ consists of Saint Croix, Saint John and Saint Thomas along with the much smaller but historically distinct Water Island and many other surrounding minor islands
The current flag of the British Virgin Islands was officially adopted in 1956. As an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, the islands fly the (UK) flag. The flag features a likeness of Saint Ursula, the namesake of the islands. She was symbolically martyred along with 11,000 virgins, and all are represented by the twelve lamps. VIGILATE is a latin word meaning "Be Watchful."
