High Victorian Style. The parlour furniture, the pictures on the wall, the wallpaper, even the rug exudes that lush Victorian style of the mid nineteenth century. The windows' shutters are obviously original to the house dating probably to around 1860. We at DeVenco are able to replicate this original classic design known as Brownstone Shutters.

Calling it “a local tattoo applied onto a universal design,” Spanish designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón has conceived of a novel way to reinterpret a Mid-Century classic: via the Victorian art of needlepoint. The designer sought a way to transform a globally recognized object into a local, hand-crafted item, and settled upon the Eames Aluminum Chair, manufactured by Vitra, as his object of reinterpretation.
