The Vesper - as written by Ian Fleming for James Bond: “Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?” - Casino Royale, Chapter 7 3 oz of Gordon’s Gin 1 oz of vodka .5 oz measure Kina Lillet lemon peel for garnish
With Spectre out, James Bond is guaranteed to be the go-to theme for New Years this year. Which means the Vesper Martini is a must have for your cocktail party. With only four ingredients, it's the authentic drink to celebrate with.
Vesper Martini Ingredients: 3 oz. Gordon's gin 1 oz. vodka 1/2 oz. Kina Lillet lemon twist Preparation: Fill a shaker half full of ice. Pour in gin, vodka and Kina Lillet. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass then garnish with a lemon twist.
Vesper martini. Invented by James Bond in Casino Royale. Three measures of Gordon's gin, one of vodka (preferably grain), half a measure of Lillet. Shaken (not stirred) with ice, then served with a large, thin slice of lemon peel. Since I love 007, Casino Royale, *and* the name Vesper, I'm pretty well required to try this (right?)!
