Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. Died at VA Hospital, La Jolla, California, of injuries sustained December 3, 2011, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Wardak Province, Afghanistan.

The GOP has gutted veterans benefits with a cut in veterans pay, would not support a jobs bill for vets, would not help out homeless vets, and other programs for vets !! Chimborazo Hospital Chimborazo Hospital was an American Civil War era facility built in Richmond, Virginia, to service the needs of the Confederate Army. It functioned between 1862 and 1865, treating over 76,000 injured Confederate soldiers. It achieved a 20 percent mortality rate, and today the site is owned by the National Park Service and is used as the visitor center for the Richmond National Battlefield Park.
