"This is a lamp i made for my mother for mothers day. it’s made from a recycled lamp and my old trumpet that i used to play in junior high. the base was cut, sanded, stained and varnished by me. it took me longer than i expected, which is why i finished it almost a week after mothers day. Evening dress, by Callot Soeurs, 1907-08, Hillwood Estate. This high waisted dress is constructed in a sheer turquoise moiré through which with an intense orange-gold silk foundation is visible. A decorative free-hanging bolero is heavily embroidered with silk cotton floss thread and flat silk ribbon cord. Beading at the neck is repeated at the edges of the short, puffed sleeves. Long trumpet ties hang from the waist sash. The skirt is decorated with the same embroidery motif used on bolero.
