Trouble with the Curve - Not good reviews from Rotten Tomatoes but I enjoyed it. Just a warm, fuzzy film with another great performance by Clint Eastwood.and good performances by Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake.
Clint gets super grumpy and curmudgeonly in this so-so pic that could be described as the opposite of Moneyball. Instead of the concept that baseball can be won solely by stats and using computers, Eastwood and his daughter (played by Amy Adams) use their instincts and "feel" for the game. Justin Timberlake is shoehorned in as a love interest. One high-point: Nobody plays slimy better than Matthew Lillard.
Trouble with the Curve | Starring Clint Eastwood as a Baseball Talent Scout who is 'stereotyped' by Atlanta Team Bigwigs as 'Over the Hill.' His formerly estranged daughter..an atorney..makes an 'AMAZING' discovery..which erases any doubt as to Mr. Eastwood's credibility. I viewed film on HBO. This poster is from a UK site.
I gave this one four stars - it would have been more based on the performances, and even the script, but the plot was entirely predictable. Nonetheless, nice to see all three major actors (and John Goodman is always a pleasure) in such human roles. The fastest action is the fast ball.. refreshing, I have to say.
