Trouble with the Curve - Not good reviews from Rotten Tomatoes but I enjoyed it. Just a warm, fuzzy film with another great performance by Clint Eastwood.and good performances by Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake.
Clint gets super grumpy and curmudgeonly in this so-so pic that could be described as the opposite of Moneyball. Instead of the concept that baseball can be won solely by stats and using computers, Eastwood and his daughter (played by Amy Adams) use their instincts and "feel" for the game. Justin Timberlake is shoehorned in as a love interest. One high-point: Nobody plays slimy better than Matthew Lillard.
Clint Eastwood produces himself (directed by a protege) as a graying baseball scout who's on the outs with his daughter ("Princess Giselle"). Ebert gives it thumbs up. Rated PG-13 for, among other things, smoking (as it's set in baseball, I'm surprised ballpark franks, beer and soda served in 32-ounce cups aren't red flagged).
