Paint the back of a heavy-duty paper plate blue (ocean) and a cardboard tube brown (tree trunk). Cut out several palm-shaped leaves; then cut a slit in each leaf and slide the leaves on the tree trunk as shown. (Hint: Add a touch of glue to secure the leaves in place.) Glue the resulting palm tree to the ocean, surrounding it with extra glue. Then sprinkle a generous amount of sand on the glue so it resembles an island.  glue confetti fish and other sea critters to the ocean!
