Recent Archaeological Finds In The Holy Land

Three clay figurines of Aphrodite were found at the site when excavators exposed a shop in the south-eastern corner of the forum district of Sussita, a town that was built by the Romans in the 2nd century BC and existed through the Byzantine era till it was destroyed by the earthquake of 749 AD. The institute's researchers believe the figurines were hidden during the era of the Roman Empire's transition to Christianity.
