Excellent chart. I have made the mistake of using "biological male/female" in a report. As a clinician I am constantly learning and correcting myself. Sometimes clients themselves will use outdated or negative phrases when referring to gender identity and expression, so following their lead or adopting their language may not always be the most clinically appropriate approach.

This needs to be spread: suicide line staffed entirely by transgender people, for transgender people. This is a fantastic idea that will help so many people. Sorry it's getting pinned EVERYWHERE. Please excuse the flood.
This week's #infograph "Homeless LGBT Youth" on the #homelesshub comes to us from TSER. There is a connection between youth homelessness and family dynamics. 68% of LGBTQ youth who are homeless have experienced rejection from members of their family, and 54% say they have experienced family abuse. The exposure to rejection among LGBTQ youth is not limited to their families but also support services such as shelters, where 1 in 3 transgender people say they have been refused a bed.
Being transgender is more about gender identity than sexual orientation. (Of course this isn’t applicable to all transgender people, but it’s a misconception that transgender people only become transgender because they are attracted to their same gender.)
