The film poster shows a man and a woman hugging over a picture of the Titanic's bow. In the background is a partly cloudy sky and at the top are the names of the two lead actors. The middle has the film's name and tagline, and the bottom contains a list of the director's previous works, as well as the film's credits, rating, and release date.
Avatar. A crippled soldier takes his twin brothers place in an experimental project where their minds are put into alien bodies. The soldier gets close to the alien tribe he has entered and sees that they are truly harmless. He must choose between his human life or a new one. Fantastic!! One of the best movies I've seen.
Titanic is a 1953 American drama film directed by Jean Negulesco. Its plot centers on an estranged couple sailing on the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic, which took place in April 1912. Mrs Julia Sturges (Barbara Stanwyck), who is at the time estranged from her husband Richard (Clifton Webb), is traveling first class on the RMS Titanic.
In 1985, Robert Ballard led an expedition that found the wreckage of Titanic. He is strongly opposed to the retrieval of artifacts from this gravesite. He feels that the debris field should be protected like the battlefield at Gettysburg. In his words, “You don’t go to Gettysburg with a shovel.”
The 1990s and 2000s saw several new changes and trends. CGI effects were being used (and had been used for a while), but improved over time. Films could be colorized, people could be animated into a film, etc. It seems ideas are endless and can only get better. Independent films sprung up, some becoming insanely popular. Avatar was an extreme blockbuster hit that made billions, beating out Titanic which also made billions.
