"The Olive Branch" is produced by Little Light Foundation, a non-profit wing of Little Airplane Productions, whose goal is to create original media that teaches children about conflict resolution and mutual respect. I did all the animation on this show.
Trees for small gardens: Olea europaea, the olive tree, grows slowly in our climate and this makes them perfect for containers. Pinch out the tips when the trees reach around 1.5m to keep them bushy. Photo by Paul Debois.
Surprisingly, both cilantro and basil freeze very well. After cutting the leaves, preferably in the early morning while they are freshest, we mix them with a small amount of olive oil... just enough to coat the leaves. They are then packed into freezer bags and frozen for later use. The olive oil makes it really easy to separate the frozen leaves and also adds an extra flavor to the mix.
