This is one of the world's only pure blue lizards, and unfortunately it's on the verge of extinction. The Blue Anole (Anolis gorgonae) looks like a little slice of sky as it slinks through the dense forests of Gorgona. The lizard is so reclusive and rare that scientists have a hard time even estimating what the total population of the species may be. #The Blue Anole #blue lizard #photography
Green Tree Dragon from Java, Indonesia Imagine light hitting the lizard's nose and stretching back. Every where the light could touch, more light would stretch back with it. With enough light, the lizard would look like a rectangle, and when put next to something so much larger, it could be a straight line. Thus, at a level, everything can be conceived as a straight line. Maybe.
“The lizard that jumped from the high iroko tree to the ground said he would praise himself if no one else did.” (21) When Okonkwo seeked help from his friend Nwakibie, Okonkwo humbly asked for some yams or yam seeds in order to start his own farm. Okonkwo tried to explain that he had to fend for himself at a very early age and is not afraid of work, therefore is a trustworthy person to invest yams to. He used the proverb of the lizard to further explain his predicament.
What a cutey - the thorny devil lizard or Moloch - features a spiny "false head" on the back of its neck, and the lizard presents this to potential predators by dipping its real head. The thorny devil's body is ridged in structure, and this enables the animal to collect water from any part of its body. That water is then conveyed to its mouth. Sometimes seen standing in a puddle of water sucking it through it's feet and then licking it's lips.
