Abandoned Florida Fort Jefferson; Work began on this fascinating, unfinished coastal fort in 1846 and the building is still the largest masonry structure in the Western Hemisphere, comprising of over 16 million bricks. part of Dry Tortugas National Park and can only be reached by seaplane or boat.

Annabelle Lee during her time with the Fort Wayne Daisies of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL).  As the photo says, Annabelle was the only player to pitch a perfect game in the 12 year history of the league.  Annabelle is the aunt of Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos Pitching legend Bill “Spaceman” Lee. (90 ft of Perfection)

Originally constructed by the French between 1754 and 1757, the Fort Ticonderoga exists at a narrows near the south end of Lake Champlain; at the time of its original construction, Fort Ticonderoga controlled a river portage along the mouth of the La Chute River, giving it strategic importance during the 18th-century conflicts between England and France, and the American Revolution.
