Sometimes God’s power is shown as much in preventing things as it is in making them happen. We may never know why. But we can always know and trust the Who. Dear Lord, thank You for knowing what I need and what I don’t — even when I don’t agree. Help me see Your “yes” and “no” as protection and guidance. Today, I choose to trust You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Recapturing Us in the midst of Rush-- One night, as he was leaving our home, he made his way over to a bush in full bloom. He tenderly picked up one of the flowers and pressed his face close, breathing in its scent deeply. He then looked back at me standing in the doorway and said, “Don’t miss this. Don’t rush through your life, Lysa. Make time to stop and breathe it all in.”

“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

The Jordan River flows from four streams that appear along the slopes of Mt. Hermon, each a result of the melting snowfalls from the peaks above. From its sources in the North to the river's end at the dead sea their is 65 miles but from overhead it looks like a snake, winding and curving, strething the short distance to more than 160 miles
