The lights are pointing in all different directions which creates the feeling that the beams of light are actually taking up space. The colors also create a calm atmosphere for me because I find purple to be a relaxing color. The designs on the stage however, contradict that relaxing feeling because they remind me of some sort of germ or caterpillar.
Stage lighting by creative coder Andrea Cuius-Boscarello in collaboration with designer Roland Ellis. The sound reactive light installation – using beautiful vintage lamps, courtesy of Historic Lighting – was commissioned by poet Sabrina Mahfouz for her solo show Dry Ice, with 30 eerily elegant tungsten lamps forming a kind of luminous alcove from which the intimate performance could take place.
