Southwestern Beef Jerky: mixed about one & one-half lb. of ground meat (no fat added) & a package of taco mix seasoning, about 1/2 cup salsa, some black pepper & some hot chili powder. I let it set about 1 hour then put it through my jerky gun. It comes out looking just like those slim jims. I let it dehydrate for about 5-6 hr. there was no fat or oil showing on the meat at all as it dried. Turned out great.
