Kings Canyon National Park, CA located in the Southern Sierra Nevadas. The Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (State 180) is one of the most stunning in California. Can get to Boyden Cavern, a cave carved in marble and is one of the most accessible in the park. Hike in the Mist Trail in June, and the view at Roads End is powerful. Grizzly Falls is reached by a short, easy trail from state 180. Note: no gas stations in park! Adjacent to Sequoia National Park. Stay at Cedar Grove Lodge, John Muir…

swamp witch: she exists in the southern mud and cypress roots. she boils the blood of crocodiles and muskrats and her fingers are singed with swamp gas and moist wood fires. her god is the mist and the murk and the gloom trails from her like a bride’s train dipped in mud.
