6 Family Day Trips Around Vancouver

White Pine Beach, Sasamat Lake: Go early—this is the warmest lake in the Lower Mainland, and it gets extremely busy on sunny days. It’s worth it for the white sandy beach, the surrounding hiking trails and the trout fishing. Good to know: the parking lot can fill up, so park and ride the bus from Coquitlam Station.

"..keep following Palos Verdes Drive West, you will arrive at.. Abalone Cove, where you can go hiking, explore the tide pools, or have a picnic. The beaches and trails are mostly deserted, making it seem that you are worlds away from Los Angeles... Parking at the entrance to the cove is $5, so [park] on the street by the fire station because it’s free."

Lititz Springs Park *Visited Summer 2013. Pretzel factory was fun, Wilbur's Chocolates not so much. Park was great, especially ducklings!
