Have an empty chart up on the board, and each team gets 4 different colored post-it notes. Write down which color corresponded to which type of sentence on the board for them to refer to. They worked with their team to come up with unique examples of each type of sentence.

I created these task cards for my students to use as a review for simple, compound and complex sentences. These can be used as a center activity or for independent review. I use them as a scavenger hunt and place them throughout my room. The students use a clip board and their recording sheet and find the corresponding card that matches the number on their recording sheet.
