The Bookshop, Wigtown, Scotland. The biggest second-hand store in Scotland has a mile of shelving & >100,000 books. It also has a lovely story: “Jessica Fox worked for NASA in LA, loved books & had always wanted to visit Scotland. She Googled ‘Secondhand bookshop, Scotland’- this was the first to pop up. She ended up working there”. Yet another reason to go to majestic Scotland.
Barter Books in Alnwick, Northumberland. One of the biggest second-hand book shops in Britain! Free tea and coffee next to a roaring fire plus a cafe further inside that serves food. Yum. Used to be an old railway station. One of my favouritest places to browse for old books :)
The legendary Shakespeare and Co (37 Rue de la Bûcherie) is an independent English-language second-hand bookstore on the Left Bank. "Hotel Tumbleweeds" refers to the fact that they host writers to sleep in between the stacks in exchange for help around the store. #SecretParis #TravelGuide #GetTransformed
