I lived right across the street in the 800 apartment building, so I would go to the library as soon as the school bus dropped me off. The English language at the time was very difficult and unfamiliar to me, therefore I read about the entire Spanish section, only to find one of my most favorite romantic novel by Laura Esquivel "Tan Veloz Como El Deseo".

This is the first English novel I read in English, it was my freshman year and it was suggested by my English teacher. It is a romantic novel about a Mexican guy and an American girl falling in love during their high school years. What made it easy for me to read was that the book is written in both the girl's and the boy's point of view. The boy's point of view uses a lot of Spanish words which help me keep up with the story.
