Roger Waters - I'm willing to post him in my guitar players group because he does play some guitar and wrote most of the amazing lyrics for the Pink Floyd albums I love. Also, he has been mending walls with David Gilmour after the fiery official leaving of the band in 1985. His retooling of The Wall tour in 2010 was the best concert I've ever attended.
In March 1983, The Final Cut, was released, subtitled: "A requiem for the post-war dream by Roger Waters, performed by Pink Floyd". His lyrics were critical of the Conservative Party government of the day and mentioned Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher by name. Waters wrote all the album's lyrics as well as the music.
Roger Waters, Amused To Death*****: For me, this is the first Waters album that actually sounds like a Waters album and not a potential Pink Floyd album. Sure, Pink Floyd could have made this (with all members), but I think that might have detracted from the effort. I'm not sure Gilmour could have contributed to the music here. That being said, this is the best of Waters' solo efforts. 11/19/14
