MARTY - This is a great example of a simple, reflective journal entry. The restrained use of different elements makes it very appealing as you are not inundated with an explosion of colours, textures and patterns. The text "be true" is glued on and is juxtaposed with the hand-drawn text below it. Overall this expresses that the artist is somewhat reserved but is capable of beauty.
flying shoes art studio: AP Warm-Up Exercise....At the beginning of each school year, I give my advanced students a series of "Warm-Up" exercises to dust off their brains and fingers. This year I hauled a tub of tarnished silverware I collected from my mother's estate and started my class off with a photo realistic drawing exercise. This is my example/demo piece.
Lia - This visual journal does not have the reflective writing, but I saw and felt what the designer wanted to say through this paper. There is one girl who is lying and staring somewhere, and the imagination is spread from the girl's eye.
