This is a really helpful list for parents to make read aloud time an interactive experience. Research shows that kids get the most out of reading when a parent helps them interact with the text. These prompts include most of the reading comprehension strategies.
Are your parents asking "how can I help my child with reading"? This is the perfect tool that will do just that and more. I created this "Parent Bookmark" as a resource for my parents when reading with their child at home. Typically I have shared this resource at Open House Night or Parent/ Teacher Conferences.
Great Back to School item to send home to parents. This one page flyer offers reading ideas and tips for how parents can incorporate reading into their child's daily routine at home. Two versions are included. One with a boy and one with a girl holding a sign. The student writes in a topic that they would be interested in reading about in the sign, before they take it home to parents. Enjoy! ~ SunnyDaze
