This word list is a great tool to display for students to know what words to use to have the power of persuasion! This can be printed off to give to each student individually as a helper as they go through the persuasive writing process.

Vocabulary: The Said Web (Gr. 3-6) - This expanding vocabulary activity tackles a very specific type of vocabulary, but since "said" and its synonyms are used so frequently in children's narrative writing, it is worth spending the time to expand it. The time spent building this vocabulary can be doubly valuable if it is also used as an opportunity to teach webs as a graphic organizer that can be used for the brainstorming process in writing.
