My all-time favorite mystery novel by accomplished author & attorney, Scott Turow. Narrated in the first person, this is a skilfully nuanced tale. Readers may come to different interpretations of what really happened. Even the title is a double entendre. Take a pass on the film version - it flattens the story into a conventional tale that is only one of several possible readings.
