City Hall, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A statue of city founder William Penn is at the top. When I was a child on entering Philadelphia by car the first person to spot city hall always said "Behold the largest pen holder in the world!" We still do.
Philadelphia City Hall - the largest of all city halls in the United States. The building is still the tallest and largest masonry building in the world. No steel frame was used, the walls on the 1st flooor are 22ft thick - this is to support all the weight from the floors above. The tower is 511ft in height. At top is a statue of William Penn - 37ft high and weighs 27 ton.
