Team GB’s men’s eight rowing team stormed to a convincing victory in the final race at the Lagoa stadium venue in Rio, shortly after their female counterparts had claimed an impressive silver.  After an explosive start out of the blocks, Paul Bennett, Scott Durant, Matthew Gotrel, Phelan Hill, Matthew Langridge, Thomas Ransley, Peter Reed, William Satch and Andrew T Hodge dug deep to preserve their lead and push their rivals Germany into silver medal position.
