The famous street (whose signage has sadly been stolen many a time) that inspired the Beatles' 1967 classic song. John's childhood home was near here, and he and Paul used to regularly meet up at the Penny Lane junction to head into town when they were just young lads - long before rock'n'roll stardom.
Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section when the Classical Mystery Tour performs with the Richmond Symphony conducted by Erin Freeman on 9/28/13. Tickets online at richmondsymphony.com or 1.800.514 ETIX.
