The first grown up book I've ever read. The learned ways and theories by Malcolm Gladwell are written with great anecdotes and examples to prove a great point. I enjoyed the book because of how it could relate in a typical Singapore environment which is super competitive. And the book just summarises by saying Hey! “Outliers are those who have been given opportunities—and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them.” A book worth reading
Outliers (BOOK)--dentifies the qualities of successful people and poses theories about the cultural, family and idiosyncratic factors that shape high achievers, in a resource that covers such topics as the secrets of software billionaires, why certain cultures are associated with better academic performance and why The Beatles earned their fame.
“Those three things - autonomy, complexity and a connection between effort and reward - are, most people agree, the three qualities that work has to have if it is to be satisfying. It is not how much money we make that ultimately makes us happy between nine and five. It's whether our work fulfills us.”
