Sheathing - Lowering the risk of sheathing rot. If you're planning to build a double-stud wall, you may want to switch from OSB sheathing to plywood sheathing. Because cold sheathing can accumulate moisture, be sure to include a ventilated rainscreen gap to encourage drying.

On Martha's Vineyard, John Abrams used Zip System OSB to sheathe the roofs and walls of a neighborhood of superinsulated houses. The homes were framed without rake or eave overhangs; after creating a tight air barrier at the exterior sheathing with Zip System tape, the rake and eave overhangs were tacked onto the sheathing.
