Myasthenia Gravis. Myasthenia gravis (MG) was first described by Thomas Willis in 1672. It is an acquired autoimmune disease with antibodies against the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AChR) at the neuromuscular junction or muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK).
