Strapless ball gown with black velvet and a red taffeta skirt in a flamenco style. Designed by Murry Arbeid. Diana accessorized this dress with one red glove, one black glove and also with a Maltese cross brooch made by Butler and Wilson. Diana wore this dress on many occasions, but not always with the brooch. This gown was among those in the Christie’s auction in 1997. The dress sold for $ 25,300.00 in the Christie's auction. This is one of my favorite 'Diana Dresses'

This striking gown made with a black velvet bodice and red taffeta skirt was designed by Murray Arbeid and worn by Diana at a London premiere in 1986. Also that year in September, she wore it to the America Cup ball. In 1987 she wore it in Spain where she added her own touch of one red, and one black long glove. This gown is lot #44 and it raised $ 25,300 for Diana's charities. It is owned by Suzanne King of Texas and is on long-term loan to Kensington Palace.
