The Powder River War or Powder River Expedition of 1865 was a large and far-flung military operation of the United States Army against the Sioux,Cheyenne, and Arapaho Indians Montana Territory and what soon was to become Wyoming Territory. Although soldiers destroyed one Arapaho village and established Fort Connor to protect travelers on the Bozeman Trail, the expedition is considered a failure because it failed to defeat the Indians and secure peace in the region.--WIKI

Soviet invasion of Poland was a Soviet military operation that started without a formal declaration of war on 17 September 1939, during the early stages of WWII. 16 days after Nazi Germany invaded Poland from the West, the Soviet Union did so from the East. The invasion ended on 6 October 1939 with the division and annexing of the whole of the 2nd Polish Republic by Germany and The USSR.
