Chapel Rock (iGrand Marais, Michigan, USA) is just after the intersection with the Lakeshore Trail. The tree on the top has a big root that goes across the gap to the mainland and this is were it gets most of it's water and nutrients. It is hard to believe this tree survives on top of this rock on the edge of Lake Superior
Rock Chapel, the Chapel Rock is a sandstone structure located on the shores of Lake Michigan, in the Pictured Rocks National Park (USA). On top of this rock, apparently unstable, grows large pine with little or feeding ground for rooting. The tree has been extended, in principle inexplicably, their roots up to floor where getting water and nutrients needed to stay alive.
