Labeling: Mental illness is definitely something labeled in society. Sometimes people refer to individuals with mental illness as being "mentally retarded" or "psycho." People may label these individuals as "less of a person" than a person without a mental illness. These labels go on and on, like things such as "crazy", "mad", "stupid", etc. People may also consider these individuals as a danger to society if they are not medicated, hospitalized, or are in public without proper supervision.
