Great visual for monitoring weather patterns. You could designate a student to be the class "meteorologist" for classroom jobs. You could also keep a bar graph of the weather to teach data keeping/ interpreting.
People with joint pain can predict rain because the barometric pressure drops when storms are approaching. Old injuries and arthritic joints may not adjust to the pressure change, and when the soft tissues and fluids around the joints expand, it irritates the surrounding nerves and causes pain. Source
This is two lessons combined into one. The first lesson has students working on their weather map and script. The second lesson is where the students present their weather report to the class. I used this second lesson as their speech grade for their third grade requirements. It was really cute to see how each student gave their "weather report". $
