A Crafty Arab Laylat Al Qadr Handprint Prayer. Tonight is the 27th night of Ramadan, also called Laylat Al Qadr, or Night of Decree. In Islamic history, it was the first night that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad (pbup), including the Sūrat al-ʻAlaq, or "The Clot." Many adult Muslims stay up most of the night in prayer.
The Prophet (pbuh) enjoined staying up and praying on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Agreed upon. This hadeeth indicates that it is prescribed to observe Laylat al-Qadr by spending the night in prayer. #Ramadan #IOURamadan #Qiyam #LaylaulQadr
