It has been reported by the wife of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): I asked the Messenger of Allah if I knew which night was the Night of Power and what should I say during that night? He, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Say, ‘Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni’ (Translation: ‘O Allah, indeed you are the pardoner, you love to pardon, so pardon me’).” (Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (pbuh) enjoined staying up and praying on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Agreed upon. This hadeeth indicates that it is prescribed to observe Laylat al-Qadr by spending the night in prayer. #Ramadan #IOURamadan #Qiyam #LaylaulQadr
