Lake Titicaca, Peru Lake Titicaca is traditionally a sacred place in Incan history. It is a beautiful lake at an elevation of 3800 meters high. It's close to other attractions, such as Macchu Picchu and the town of Cusco. Lake Titicaca is a good place to camp and backpack, and is a natural border between Peru and Bolivia. The average depth of the lake is about 350, which is really deep, and is 118 miles long, and 50 miles wide.
