Kid Rock, singer-songwriter, was born Robert James Ritchie on Jan. 17, 1971 in Romeo, MI. He began his career as a rapper and hip hop artist, later moving into rock and country. He signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1998. His first commercial success was the 1998 album "Devil Without a Cause." His collaboration with Sheryl Crow on the song "Picture" was his first country hit and biggest pop hit in the U.S. to date. He is a five time Grammy Award nominee.
