Keiko (Free Willy) was an orca formerly kept in dismal conditions in Mexico, then rescued from those conditions and starred in the blockbuster movie. After his release back to the wild, a very ecstatic Keiko never ceased to revel in and celebrate his newfound freedom. He succumbed to pneumonia but died free.....seeing the great joy he experienced in his free life was a treasure that went far beyond that of any existence in a concrete, chlorinated pool.

Keiko breaches in Iceland. The yellow thing on his dorsal is a tracking device. Keiko’s care takers would track his where abouts in order to be able to keep an eye on Keiko and his physical condition. During Keiko’s long swim from Iceland to Norway the tracking device showed Keiko swimming in a straight line almost constantly except for when he would make very deep dives which was most likely when he was hunting for food.
